The Writer

About Dan Silbaugh

Founder and operator, Dan Silbaugh is a Seattle-based writer with an old soul, a curious mind, and a knack for turning real lives into page-turners. With over twenty years of writing experience primarily in fiction, he brings a storyteller’s instinct to the art of memoir ghostwriting; helping people capture the meaning, humor, and heart behind their memories.

Dan holds a degree in Art from the University of Washington and a Marketing certification, blending creative flair with thoughtful structure. A lover of history (especially the late 19th century), he’s been known to vanish into Wikipedia rabbit holes for hours, only to reemerge with a fascinating fact about railroads, revolutions, or FDR.

Outside of writing, Dan finds joy in the nostalgic and the nuanced, such as trains, chess, surfing in Hawaii, wandering through San Francisco, visiting museums, and listening to the Beatles. He reads the New York Times religiously and finds inspiration from listening to great storytelling from improv comedy stages, the corners of Tolstoy, and reading about everyday items like zippers.

Dan approaches each project with curiosity, compassion, and a touch of creative mischief—bringing your story to life with clarity, warmth, and the timeless charm of a well-told tale.
